Waste to Wonder – Free Half Term Workshops at Selby Abbey!

Now Then!, Our Zero Selby and Selby Abbey have teamed up to provide a free day of creative workshops this half-term.

Families and people of all ages are invited to drop in to Selby Abbey on Wednesday 30th October to get creative and help kick off a new project which will see an artist based in the Abbey.

Artist Tony Wade will guide attendees in making art using autumn leaves and rubbings from the Abbey. You’ll be able to take your creations home and add to a collaborative map showing Selby’s important green spaces.

Writer Angela Bridge will help you write and share stories about climate and nature. You’ll also be able to work with Our Zero Selby to learn about Craftivism and design and sew your own cross-stitch heart, which becomes a broach or badge! It’ll be a chance to show your support for nature with a fun, hands-on activity. Those that don’t feel sewing is for them can use textile pens instead.

All materials are provided and there’s no need to book, people can just drop in between 10:00am and 2:30pm.
