Re-Imagine Day: Upcycling for Fun and Function

Calling all crafters, creatives, and anyone with a passion for sustainability!

Join us for the Re-Imagine Day: Upcycling for fun and function on Sunday, March 23rd from 11:30am to 3:30pm at Brayton Community Centre.

This exciting free event is a celebration of all things upcycling – giving old items a new lease of life and creating something amazing from what others might throw away! Whether you're a seasoned DIYer or just curious to learn more, this event is perfect for all ages and skill levels.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Inspiring Demonstrations: Watch talented local crafters showcase their upcycling skills, including furniture restoration, and textile transformations.

  • Meet the Maker: Connect with local artisans and see their incredible upcycled creations.

  • Hands-on Fun: Unleash your inner artist! Try your hand at a variety of upcycling activities for all ages, including making bunting to brighten up Brayton Community Centre.

  • Expert Insights: Hear from Julia Roebuck, founder of Thread Republic and Upcycle Fashion, about sustainable fashion and the power of upcycling.

  • Bring Your Projects! Get expert advice on your own upcycling projects! Bring along your textile projects for tips and inspiration, or photos of your furniture projects for advice on how to transform them.

  • Local Crafters Showcase: We're celebrating local talent! Bring along your finished upcycled items and/or photos of your finished projects to be part of a special exhibition showcasing the amazing creativity in our community. Let's inspire others to get involved!

  • Free Refreshments and Lunch: Enjoy delicious refreshments and a lunch (please let us know in advance if you have any dietary requirements).

Whether you're a seasoned crafter or simply curious to learn more, Re-Imagine Day is the perfect opportunity to unleash your creativity, connect with others, and discover the joy of giving old things a new lease of life.
