Free Half-Term Fun at Selby Abbey This Thursday!

Looking for something fun and creative to do with the kids this half-term? Join us this Thursday, 20th February, at Selby Abbey for a day of FREE activities in partnership with Now Then! Creative.

Get crafty and show your love for nature by designing your own felt heart brooch or badge. This hands-on activity is perfect for children of all ages and requires no prior experience. Under 8s may need a little help from their grown-ups, making it a great family activity. Simply drop in to Selby Abbey between 11am and 3:30pm to participate.

In addition to the felt heart activity, there’ll also be two exciting workshops:

  • Spring Unfolds, Paper Flowers (11am-1pm): Join artist Helen Brook to craft vibrant paper flowers, celebrating the arrival of spring. Create two beautiful blooms – one for a collaborative installation at the Abbey and one to take home.

  • Stencil Printing (2pm-3:30pm): Get creative with artist Mandy Keating, using homemade reusable gel plates, natural plant-based paints, and coffee grounds to print onto scrap fabric and paper. Create a piece to take away and contribute another to a larger Abbey installation.

All workshops are suitable for children of all ages, with assistance recommended for under 8s. While we’ll have some aprons available, please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy.

Don't miss this fantastic opportunity for free half-term fun at Selby Abbey!
